So, my grandmother back in 2005 brought home this HUGE tub of grey, goopy, clay looking shit. I was so curious, and really just wanted to make sculptures out of it because- 2005. Then, one day she was walking around the house with a face that looked like cracked porcelain. Not only did she scare the shit out of me, I needed ANSWERS. She said it was Bentonite Clay and that it was very good for your skin. It'd keep you looking young forever. Interesting. Then, one day I saw her DRINKING IT. I really needed more answers. Like, yesterday son! I asked why she was drinking DIRT. She laughed so hard, and said "Here- have a taste". I tasted it and oddly enough, it almost was creamy. I loved it in a really really weird way. And from that point on, it was routine to do clay masks and drink dirt. Apparently, this shit is so powerful and detoxing that it alkalizes the body and defends you against the harshest diseases and illnesses out there.
WHAT IS IT & WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
It comes from volcanic ash and is extremely healing. It dates back centuries into homeopathic and Ayurvedic Medicine practices. It originated in France, but is now mostly harvested here in the U.S. How does this magical shit work exactly? ILL TELL YOU.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It extracts “Heavy metal toxins” usually referring to substances like mercury, cadmium, lead and benzene. Usually found in foods that contain high fructose corn syrup, certain types of fish & fluoride. By ingesting the clay, it forces the body to excrete these heavy metals by passing it through your body and detoxifying your blood. Bentonite clay is known to have an abundance of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron and potassium. So you're loading your body with amazing minerals on TOP of a major detox. When used on the skin, its known to heal Eczema, Dermatitis & Psoriasis. It alkalizes the body, oxygenates the blood, detoxes the body from the inside OUT, helps with stomach and bowel issues, good source of probiotics, boosts immunity, purifies water and LAST BUT NOT LEAST- when in powder form, can be used as a baby powder natural alternative for all you healthy mamas and nature daddies out there.
I personally use it as a mask for when my skin is dry, irritated, breaking out, or simply on one pimple if I have a shiner (rolls eyes hard AF). Right now, my skin has been given a pretty long break from makeup and heavy products since I don't go anywhere and I work all day in my pajamas (but we won't talk about that right now kthx), but because of this I tend to touch my face a LOT. I mean... like a lot. And it has fucked up my pH balance on my face BADDDD. By touching my face so much, it puts dirt, germs and unwanted oils all over my face. So I'm getting a lot of dead skin no matter how much I exfoliate, little breakouts, and pimples that are NOT welcomed. So I use this to take care of the problem entirely.
Right after, to ensure moisture I use Green Coffee oil from Shea Terra Organics to moisturize and help circulate the blood flow in my skin. This product also helped SO much with my dark circles its ridiculous. HOLY GRAILLLLLL.
So needless to say, google this shit and get to detoxin fam. Thank me later <3
P.S.- My grandmother still hasn't gone through that entire tub of clay and because its antibacterial, its still good. 12 years later. And that clay on my face in the picture above? Yeah. Thats 12 year old clay on mah face. Just thought you should know that. Carry on.
